The biblical commandments to protect (shamor) and remember (zachor) Shabbat have been interpreted in countless ways throughout time.  How can looking at biblical, rabbinic, and contemporary texts help us determine for ourselves what might define a significant Shabbat experience?  We will discuss texts as well as the texts of our own lives to explore the challenges and blessings of Shabbat.
