The ancient Indian philosophy of yoga is being used all over the world to reduce stress, improve health, as well as improve the enjoyment of daily life.  This session explores paths (aspects of yoga philosophy) and asana (physical poses).  Classical, Midrashic, and Kabbalistic Jewish concepts and texts will be woven into our studying and physical practice. This session is appropriate for bodies of all levels and shapes.  The ultimate goal of yoga is to prepare the seeker or student to yoke the mind to body and spirit, and achieve physical and meditative transcendence.  People who are new to yoga will learn (with lots of support) how to do foundational poses which open the body and mind, and experienced yogis will try new challenges and create deeper practice.
