Joy of Creative Jewish Dance

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Kick off your shoes and we'll begin with invigorating poses based on the angular and oppositional Hebrew letters.  Then we'll leave behind the narrow confining places where 'shoulds' and 'should nots'  restrict our freedom of movement---as we cross over into the promise of our own authentic expression and personal response to some of the most beautiful Jewish music in the world.  Let your arms and hands go to the flowing rhythms of Sephardic song.  Stomp and dig your feet into the sound of percussive Yemenite and North African drums.  Abandon the soul to the ecstatic music of the Hasidim.  Participants will explore the big ideas behind Jewish dance and movement while discovering their own way into it.  All backgrounds and ages welcome.
