Danielle (Dani) Mahrer was hired as the Teen Collective's first Director in December 2014 and has spent most of her life either participating or working in informal Jewish education for teens. Dani spent three years as a counselor, teacher and tour guide for long term high school study programs in Israel, and worked as a coordinator for the Jewish Agency's Summer Shlichim program - preparing young Israelis to work at Jewish summer camps in North America. Dani is a product of and past staff member of Camp Newman and originally from Los Angeles. She has a B.A. in History and Jewish Studies from UC Santa Cruz, and recently moved back to California after living in Jerusalem for four years. Dani lives in San Francisco and spends her free time playing soccer and tasting all of the burritos in the city.
